Youth Works

Each spring, Pi Sigma Zeta assists Kroger and the Greater Cincinnati Urban League with the task of training youth, ages 14-17, to work at area Kroger stores. This job readiness program enables the sorority to provide local youth with the skills necessary to be successful in obtaining and maintaining employment. Sorors participate in this program by providing administrative support and working as "trainers".
Midwest Regional Black Family
Reunion

The Black Family Reunion, sponsored by the National Council of Negro Women, focuses on the historic strengths and traditional values of the Black Family. Pi Sigma Zeta hosted a pavilion at this event since the chapter's inception in 1997 until 2001. For three years, the chapter coordinated the Family Values pavilion. This pavilion focused on topics related to the family such as financial planning, senior care issues, and family rituals. In 2000, Pi Sigma Zeta sponsored the Fine Arts pavilion whose programming included various interactive activities such as face painting, friendship bracelet making, and sock puppet making. Other events included a workshop on starting an acting career, poetry reading from local poets, and children's storybook telling.
